Luis Posada Carriles was
arrested today in Miami. While this is obviously a good thing, why did we wait for all the protests in Cuba to arrest him? The initial story is that the US arrested him just as he was about to leave the country, but I really doubt that if we found him today, we didn't know where he was yesterday. It would be interesting to find out what the US knew and when.

Which do you think prompted the US more -- protests in Cuba or Posada giving media interviews? I doubt the US cares about Castro-orchestrated protests in the streets.
I think that the US was motivated by the fact that this guy was going to leave the country and cause us all sort of PR problems. Had he just stayed hidden in Miami, we probably would have stalled longer.
