Matthew Levitt's testimony at today's Congressional hearing on counterfeit goods and terrorist financing is excellent. His report on how terrorist groups, particularly Hezbollah, finance themselves through the creation and trafficking of counterfeit goods is well researched and measured in tone (as in, not over-reaching). Obviously, I was most interested in the Latin America/tri-border region angle to the report, but it's a good read overall. Hattip to to the Counterterrorism Blog, where Levitt is also a contributor.
UPDATE: For those interested, the LA Times covered the hearing.
