There has been essentially no change in the Panama polls since the last time I reported on them.
Ipsos: Martinelli 49, Herrera 33.
Unimer: Martinelli 48, Herrera 36.
I believe both polling firms are running regular polls, so those numbers move a bit with each article depending on the day, but they show a consistent 10-15 point lead for the opposition.
A recent Unimer poll also showed President Torrijos with 56% approval, which makes it more interesting that the opposition candidate leads by double digits in every poll. Those numbers suggest the opposition has been successful in portraying Herrera as more radical than Torrijos. Torrijos is also benefiting from a small bump that outgoing presidents often receive in their final months.
The key concerns of the electorate are split between security (47%) and the economy (45%).
Election is May 3.
